4 Days B 4 Christmas

I am so very last minute this year!  Uggg! I wish I could wave a magic wand and it would all be done, so I can just sit back and enjoy.......

Quote: “No kind action ever stops with itself. One kind action leads to another. Good example is followed. A single act of kindness throws out roots in all directions, and the roots spring up and make new trees. The greatest work that kindness does to others is that it makes them kind themselves.”   -Amelia Earhart

Beauty tip:
Rub a couple of drops of coconut oil between your palms. Your hands will look shiny in the light. Then scrunch the oil into your dry hair, starting at the ends and working towards your scalp. Leave this “conditioning” treatment in your hair. You won’t even notice it, but you will notice that it works wonders in keeping frizzies and fly-aways in their place – completely out of sight!

Bible verse: Be merciful, even as your Father is merciful.  “Judge not, and you will not be judged; condemn not, and you will not be condemned; forgive, and you will be forgiven;     Luke 6:36

DEFINE NECESSITY

This is so amazing.  That is  all I'm going to  say.  This has brought tears to my eyes to think that we are so caught up in what WE want and NOT what we DO have.  They are all bones, dying from hunger, and we have the opportunity to EAT to the point of dying.  We are so selfish.

Cute Rocker Nails:)

I saw these and they were on my nails in like 5 seconds flat!  They are so cute and oh so easy!  It took me about 10 minuets per hand.  Also I would like to welcome are new page "Fun ways to sign a Blog, E-mail or Letter" It features 35 creative ways to sign before your name in a letter, blog or e-mail! Check it out!
All you need is tape and the 2 nail polish colors you want to use (I used black and pink)

Put one piece of tape straight across the middle of your nail (so one side should be completely covered up and the other side completely exposed)
Now add another piece of tape running up and down. (you should have a small box area 1/4 of your nail)
Paint that box black (or your desired color)
After about 1 minuet peel of the vertical piece of tape.
Paint the other side of the box your alternate color (the other 1/4 of your nail)
After both sides are COMPLETELY dry, peel of the piece of tape that was splitting your nail in half.
Now you should have no tape on your nail, put one piece of tape running up and down creating a box like before. Paint the box black (or desired color).
You should have 1 1/4 of your nail left, paint it your alternating color.
Your done and have very adorable rocking nails!

Miss Elaini'ous.

Hi Guys,  Today I want to share about a determined young woman named Elaini, who has created the website Miss Elaini'ous 1 Dress. 100 Days. For orphans.  Her goal: Raise  $50,000 for the orphans in India. For the 100 days she wore 1 dress every day!  Now she is on day 173 and has raised only $39,124.14.  She needs help to fulfill her dream/goal of raising $50,000 for the Warm Blankets Orphan Care.  This is what Elaini says in her blog:

Miss Elaini'ous Day 1

This blog’s goal is to use fashion to help orphaned children in India.
Orphans in India can’t go to school without a uniform.  However, they often don’t have clothes to wear.   Growing up surrounded by turmoil, human trafficking, and loss, an education can help these orphans dream about a different life.  I have been given so much that I can have “fashion,” while these children struggle to stay clothed.  I have to do something.  I’m hoping you’ll do it with me.

Here’s the deal: I’ll wear a black dress for several months (don’t worry—I’ll have two of the exact same style so that I don’t start smelling) to identify with the children who only have one outfit.  I’ll accessorize it in different ways, take a picture every day, and blog it.  Think of it as a dress marathon.

Here’s where you can help.  I want to raise $50,000 for the orphans in India.  I’m going to wear this dress as a reminder of these children.  Would you help me help them?   Through partnering with Warm Blankets Orphan Care, let’s dream big for these children who may never get the chance to dream at all unless we do something.  Even the smallest gift will make a difference.

THESE are the kids Elaini wants to help, THESE are the kids warm blankets helps.

Its hard for me to think that these kids are living on the same earth we are, yet just look at them, then go look in the mirror or just around you.  We like to do the hole "Poor me thing" at this point NONE of are complaints even begin to compare.  We aren't going hungry, we aren't scared for are life everyday, we aren't drinking polluted water or living in huts of dirt.  WE live the life of luxury, WE live the good life.  So.... no more complaining on our part, we could ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS, be them.

I really encourage you to click on the links provided and pray for Elaini.  Pray for these kids, pray for there futures.  If you are or aren't in the financial place to donate to Elaini's cause, pray.  Every prayer counts!

Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves; ensure justice for those being crushed. Yes, speak up for the poor and helpless, and see that they get justice.
Proverbs 31:8-9

A father to the fatherless, a defender of widows, is God in his holy dwelling.

The House with Nobody in It- By Joyce Kilmar

I had to memorize a poem for school and found this one.  I LOVE IT!! It's so mysterious and mesmerizing!  Don't you think?  Definitely my new favorite poem!

The House with Nobody in It - By Joyce Kilmer

Whenever I walk to Suffern along the Erie track
I go by a poor old farmhouse with its shingles broken and black.
I suppose I've passed it a hundred times, but I always stop for a minute
And look at the house, the tragic house, the house with nobody in it.

I never have seen a haunted house, but I hear there are such things;
That they hold the talk of spirits, their mirth and sorrowings.
I know this house isn't haunted, and I wish it were, I do;
For it wouldn't be so lonely if it had a ghost or two.

This house on the road to Suffern needs a dozen panes of glass,
And somebody ought to weed the walk and take a scythe to the grass.
It needs new paint and shingles, and the vines should be trimmed and tied;
But what it needs the most of all is some people living inside.

If I had a lot of money and all my debts were paid
I'd put a gang of men to work with brush and saw and spade.
I'd buy that place and fix it up the way it used to be
And I'd find some people who wanted a home and give it to them free.

Now, a new house standing empty, with staring window and door,
Looks idle, perhaps, and foolish, like a hat on its block in the store.
But there's nothing mournful about it; it cannot be sad and lone
For the lack of something within it that it has never known.

But a house that has done what a house should do, a house that has sheltered life,
That has put its loving wooden arms around a man and his wife,
A house that has echoed a baby's laugh and held up his stumbling feet,
Is the saddest sight, when it's left alone, that ever your eyes could meet.

So whenever I go to Suffern along the Erie track
I never go by the empty house without stopping and looking back,
Yet it hurts me to look at the crumbling roof and the shutters fallen apart,
For I can't help thinking the poor old house is a house with a broken heart.

By Joyce Kilmer

The Evelution Of The Worlds "Beauty"

Hello everyone!!! (sorry for my little vacation! I kinda got a little distracted with life;)

This is definitely something to think about and realize ladies!!

I think sometimes we all can get sucked in to the devils lies that tell us we are ugly on the outside and so we start primping more on the outside, and we lose sight that it's what's on the inside that counts. I know that in this day and age looking beautiful on the inside is not something that's taken seriously and people are more worried about their physical appearance.

I always kinda figured the magazine pix were air brushed but not THIS much!!  I thought it would be cool to share!  Hope you enjoy!  Its worth the watch!!

Even after putting about 5 pounds of makeup on, they photo shopped her and made her neck slimmer and taller, made her eyes brighter and bigger, made her lips more plump, made her nose smaller and her hair bigger! Its disgusting!!

I love what it says at the end 'No wonder our perception of beauty is distorted.' It's to true. Hardly anyone can look that great without doing something to themselves to make them look better. She was a totally different women when they were done with her! I wouldn't even call her the same person.  She wasn't HER anymore, she was some kinda photo portrait that SOMEONE created!!

We are all so focused on being beautiful on the outside that we totally forget and we don't see how ugly we are on the inside. I must admit, I get caught up in the worlds lies of being only beautiful on the outside... it's really easy to do.

I'm a teenager, and I know how hard it is to do that - to stay true and be beautiful on the inside when the world is telling you to do drugs and alcohol and to be fake. How 1 Samuel 16:7 puts it - man looks on the outside. We judge people by how they look. Our natural instinct is to think that people who look not "normal" and how everyone else looks, we automatically avoid them and think they're weird. But God doesn't see what we look like on the outside. He doesn't dislike people who look weird. (As a matter of fact, He doesn't dislike anybody he loves us all!.) But He looks on the inside. That's why we need to be beautiful on the inside. If that's the part God (who is King of kings, creator and maker of everything) sees in us, then we want that to be the best part of us, right? After all, He is the one who is going to judge us on judgment day. If we choose Him and decide to be beautiful on the inside,we will be a lot happier and that will shine through which will make us ultimately more beautiful!

1 Samuel 16:7.

"But the LORD said to Samuel, "Do not look at his appearance or at the height of his stature, because I have rejected him; for God sees not as man sees, for man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart."

Shel Silverstein Poems!

THE WORLDS DIRTIEST MAN

Oh, I'm Dirty Dan, the world's dirtiest man,
I never have taken a shower.
I can't see my shirt--it's so covered with dirt,
And my ears have enough to grow flowers.

But the water is either a little too hot,
Or else it's a little too cold.
I'm musty and dusty and patchy and scratchy
And mangy and covered with mold.
But the water is always a little too hot,
Or else it's a little too cold.

I live in a pen with five hogs and a hen
And three squizzly lizards who creep in
My bed, and they itch as I squirm, and I twitch
In the cruddy old sheets that I sleep in.

In you looked down my throat with a flashlight, you'd note
That my insides are coated with rust.
I creak when I walk and I squeak when I talk,
And each time I sneeze I blow dust.

The thought of a towel and soap makes me howl,
And when people have something to tell me
They don't come and tell it--they stand back and yell it.
I think they're afraid they might smell me.

The bedbugs that leap on me sing me to sleep,
And the garbage flies buzz me awake.
They're the best friends I've found and I fear they might drown
So I never go too near a lake.

Each evening at nine I sit down to dine
With the termites who live in my chair,
And I joke with the bats and have intimate chats
With the cooties who crawl in my hair.

I'd brighten my life if I just found a wife,
But I fear that will never be
Until I can find a girl, gentle and kind,
With a beautiful face and a sensitive mind,
Who sparkles and twinkles and glistens and shines--
And who's almost as dirty as me.

-Shel Silverstein

       Where the sidewalk ends
There is a place where the sidewalk ends
And before the street begins,
And there the grass grows soft and white,
And there the sun burns crimson bright,
And there the moon-bird rests from his flight
To cool in the peppermint wind.

Let us leave this place where the smoke blows black
And the dark street winds and bends.
Past the pits where the asphalt flowers grow
We shall walk with a walk that is measured and slow,
And watch where the chalk-white arrows go
To the place where the sidewalk ends.

Yes we'll walk with a walk that is measured and slow,
And we'll go where the chalk-white arrows go,
For the children, they mark, and the children, they know
The place where the sidewalk ends.

TOMS!!!!

Hola!!!
Today I want to share about an organization I support and love- TOMS!!
They sell very cute and very "IN" shoes (I have a pair and are planing on getting another very soon + they are SO in that celebrities like: Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen,Selena Gomez, zac Efron, Miley Cyrus, Anne Hathaway, and Kristen Stewart just to name a few, have been seen in them;)
The prices may not be wonderful but with the TOMS organization, every pair of shoes bought in America, they give a pair to a child in need.
so basically you are paying for two pairs of shoes!  One for you and one for a kid in a less fortunate country ( like Haiti, China, Africa, and Honduras).

So why do they "NEED" shoes you might ask?

Many children in developing countries grow up barefoot. Whether at play, doing chores or going to school, these children are at risk:

•A leading cause of disease in developing countries is soil-transmitted diseases, which can penetrate the skin through bare feet.   Wearing shoes can  help prevent these diseases, and the long-term physical and cognitive harm they cause.

•Wearing shoes also prevents feet from getting cuts and sores. Not only are these injuries painful, they also are dangerous when wounds become infected.

•Many times children can't attend school barefoot because shoes are a required part of their uniform. If they don't have shoes, they don't go to school. If they don't receive an education, they don't have the opportunity to realize their potential.

You should relay check it out!  Hope you enjoy!

Why this works:  The honey is killing bacteria that might cause acne in the future and also hydrating your skin.  The lactic acid in the yogurt (from the milk) is gently exfoliating and hydrating.

Have a wonderful Sunday!   -STARZ*

News print nails!

Hello, I stumbled upon this CUTE nail design  a couple of months ago and fell in love!  They are sooo simple for how cute and complicated they look!

Supplies: Cup,Rubbing alcohol (should be at least 50%),newspaper,a light colored nail polish ( like white or tan) ,and some clear nail polish.

Directions:Cut the newspaper into small squares a little bit larger than your finger. Then  paint your nails with the light colored polish ( like white, beige, light pink, or something to that effect.) Let polish dry thoroughly (at least 5 minuets.) then dip one finger in the alcohol filled cup and count to 12 then place a square of newspaper on top of your nail. slowly and gently rub all over the nail to create a firm bond.  wait count to 15 then slowly peel back the paper and voila!!   Wait for 1 minute, then apply clear nail polish over top, and INSTANT CUTENESS!!!    Side Note: The base nail polish coat should be fresh (like as in just painted) before doing the alcohol and newspaper part or it won't work.  Also make sure after the 1 minute of drying time to immediately apply the clear coat or the ink will rub off.

I used:  White- "French White Tip" by "NYC"
Top coat- "F lawless" by Sally Hansen "Diamond Strength"

Hope you love it!      W/<3 -STARZ*

Quick egg facial.

Hello everyone!  Today I am going to share a quick D.I.Y.  facial that I do once or twice a month.

Ingredients: 1 egg white,1 Tablespoon lemon juice.
Directions:  Separate the egg white from the yolk.  Put the egg white in a bowl along with the lemon juice and discard the yolk.  Then whip the egg/lemon juice mix until frothy.  Wash and dry your face then dip a soft wash cloth in the mix apply all over your face in circular movements.  Let sit until stiff (usually about 15minuets) rinse well with warm water and pat dry.

The egg will help close your pores (temporarily) and the lemon juice will help kill acne causing bacteria.    This facial is good for oily to medium skin.  WARNING: Do not use this mask more than once a week,it can be very drying and cause peeling, itchiness, and acne breakouts.

Hello World!!

Hello Ladies My name is Starz I am a 13 year old city girl living in a small town in the heart of horse country (Kentucky) (and no we do not have any horses or live on a farm:)  I have been dreaming about doing a blog for a wile, about random girl stuff (clothes, beauty, nail art, and just tips in general).  I, for some reason, have a fetish for D.I.Y. beauty stuff so that will probably be a lot of this blog.  Also I am a BIG fashoinista!!
