Shel Silverstein Poems!

THE WORLDS DIRTIEST MAN

Oh, I'm Dirty Dan, the world's dirtiest man,
I never have taken a shower.
I can't see my shirt--it's so covered with dirt,
And my ears have enough to grow flowers.

But the water is either a little too hot,
Or else it's a little too cold.
I'm musty and dusty and patchy and scratchy
And mangy and covered with mold.
But the water is always a little too hot,
Or else it's a little too cold.

I live in a pen with five hogs and a hen
And three squizzly lizards who creep in
My bed, and they itch as I squirm, and I twitch
In the cruddy old sheets that I sleep in.

In you looked down my throat with a flashlight, you'd note
That my insides are coated with rust.
I creak when I walk and I squeak when I talk,
And each time I sneeze I blow dust.

The thought of a towel and soap makes me howl,
And when people have something to tell me
They don't come and tell it--they stand back and yell it.
I think they're afraid they might smell me.

The bedbugs that leap on me sing me to sleep,
And the garbage flies buzz me awake.
They're the best friends I've found and I fear they might drown
So I never go too near a lake.

Each evening at nine I sit down to dine
With the termites who live in my chair,
And I joke with the bats and have intimate chats
With the cooties who crawl in my hair.

I'd brighten my life if I just found a wife,
But I fear that will never be
Until I can find a girl, gentle and kind,
With a beautiful face and a sensitive mind,
Who sparkles and twinkles and glistens and shines--
And who's almost as dirty as me.

       Where the sidewalk ends
There is a place where the sidewalk ends
And before the street begins,
And there the grass grows soft and white,
And there the sun burns crimson bright,
And there the moon-bird rests from his flight
To cool in the peppermint wind.

Let us leave this place where the smoke blows black
And the dark street winds and bends.
Past the pits where the asphalt flowers grow
We shall walk with a walk that is measured and slow,
And watch where the chalk-white arrows go
To the place where the sidewalk ends.

Yes we'll walk with a walk that is measured and slow,
And we'll go where the chalk-white arrows go,
For the children, they mark, and the children, they know
The place where the sidewalk ends.

TOMS!!!!

Hola!!!
Today I want to share about an organization I support and love- TOMS!!
They sell very cute and very "IN" shoes (I have a pair and are planing on getting another very soon + they are SO in that celebrities like: Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen,Selena Gomez, zac Efron, Miley Cyrus, Anne Hathaway, and Kristen Stewart just to name a few, have been seen in them;)
The prices may not be wonderful but with the TOMS organization, every pair of shoes bought in America, they give a pair to a child in need.
so basically you are paying for two pairs of shoes!  One for you and one for a kid in a less fortunate country ( like Haiti, China, Africa, and Honduras).

So why do they "NEED" shoes you might ask?

Many children in developing countries grow up barefoot. Whether at play, doing chores or going to school, these children are at risk:

•A leading cause of disease in developing countries is soil-transmitted diseases, which can penetrate the skin through bare feet.   Wearing shoes can  help prevent these diseases, and the long-term physical and cognitive harm they cause.

•Wearing shoes also prevents feet from getting cuts and sores. Not only are these injuries painful, they also are dangerous when wounds become infected.

•Many times children can't attend school barefoot because shoes are a required part of their uniform. If they don't have shoes, they don't go to school. If they don't receive an education, they don't have the opportunity to realize their potential.

You should relay check it out!  Hope you enjoy!

Hydrating Yogurt Facial.

HIYA! Today it's a yogurt facial that hydrates, softens your skin, and gently exfoliates.

Ingredients:  1/4 cup plain yogurt, 1 Tablespoon honey.

Directions: Mix the honey and yogurt together.   Apply a thin, even layer with your fingers(freshly washed of course) to a freshly cleansed face.  After 10 minutes, rinse your face with warm water....and enjoy your healthy, baby smooth face!!

Tip: Feel free to apply it under your eyes also to help relieve under-eye bags!

Why this works:  The honey is killing bacteria that might cause acne in the future and also hydrating your skin.  The lactic acid in the yogurt (from the milk) is gently exfoliating and hydrating.

Have a wonderful Sunday!   -STARZ*
