Letting Your Light Shine

I LOVE this quote.  It is SO inspiring!  It sends shivers up my spine....

"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us.' We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, and fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There's nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone and as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give others permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others."  -Marianne Williamson

The first time I heard this quote was actualy from the movie "Akeela and the Bee".

He's right, who are we not to be fabulous?  We are to bring glory to God, when we do that, who is anyone to say your not brilliant, gorgeous, talented or fabulous because you are doing what God put you on the planet for.   We need to learn how to shine, everyone has been gifted in different ways and when we find that place, where you know you belong, where you just want to through your whole beeing into it, that is where you where meant to shine!  Every day we have opportunity's to help people and show love, that is letting your light shine.

Let your light shine this week:)

Define Necessity (x2)

Many of us are going to go Black Friday shopping......we get up at an un-civilized time of morning or perhaps are heading out tonight to fill our selfish desires with stuff  thats 'On sale'.  As we fight to get the biggest bestest deals, with full stomachs from our turky dinners, remember this picture.  We are so privileged. You may be way underprivileged compared to the next guy but we are FAR more privileged than they could EVER dream of being. As we turn on our Christmas music and flip out our check books.  Remember what truly matters.

That is all I'm gonna say .

Yours -Starz

P.S. This has been my most popular post....I wonder why?:)

Star Wars Reterns!!!!!

Hey Everyone:) For all you Star Wars fans out there (like me!!!), Have you heard about the just announced, up and coming star wars episode 7?  I am so exited! The only Problem is that we have to wait till 2015.  I will be 17 by that point!  Star Wars has always been a part of my life, as my dad was 7 years old when the very first Star Wars movie came out and I can always remember seeing the box of my dads 3 original Star Wars VHS s having there place on the movie shelf, being promised that as soon as I was old enough I would be allowed to watch them.  Hearing story's of how my dad had a Star Wars themed room when he was younger and then finally being old enough to watch them and it being ME who wanted a star wars themed room:) I still want a light saber! I told that to my dad and he said "I have wanted one for over 30 years!". One thing I do know is that it is being directed by the director of "Avengers" which is not that great of news, or at least for me because I thought that movie was royally stupid. However, I still cant wait!
I have some ?s though,
*What comes Next? They already defeated the empire!
*What characters are left?
*Who is going to star in this movie? I hope they bring Harrison Ford back! I know he is old but he's AWESOME!
*Why do we have to wait till 2015?? Catching fire comes out in 2014 and I would think that to be a more difficult movie to make than Star Wars.

Ok, I have to go!  Have a happy Halloween and b safe!

DEFINE NECESSITY

This is so amazing.  That is  all I'm going to  say.  This has brought tears to my eyes to think that we are so caught up in what WE want and NOT what we DO have.  They are all bones, dying from hunger, and we have the opportunity to EAT to the point of dying.  We are so selfish.

Comment your feelings on this picture.  What do you think?

Miss Elaini'ous.

Hi Guys,  Today I want to share about a determined young woman named Elaini, who has created the website Miss Elaini'ous 1 Dress. 100 Days. For orphans.  Her goal: Raise  $50,000 for the orphans in India. For the 100 days she wore 1 dress every day!  Now she is on day 173 and has raised only $39,124.14.  She needs help to fulfill her dream/goal of raising $50,000 for the Warm Blankets Orphan Care.  This is what Elaini says in her blog:

Miss Elaini'ous Day 1

This blog’s goal is to use fashion to help orphaned children in India.
Orphans in India can’t go to school without a uniform.  However, they often don’t have clothes to wear.   Growing up surrounded by turmoil, human trafficking, and loss, an education can help these orphans dream about a different life.  I have been given so much that I can have “fashion,” while these children struggle to stay clothed.  I have to do something.  I’m hoping you’ll do it with me.

Here’s the deal: I’ll wear a black dress for several months (don’t worry—I’ll have two of the exact same style so that I don’t start smelling) to identify with the children who only have one outfit.  I’ll accessorize it in different ways, take a picture every day, and blog it.  Think of it as a dress marathon.

Here’s where you can help.  I want to raise $50,000 for the orphans in India.  I’m going to wear this dress as a reminder of these children.  Would you help me help them?   Through partnering with Warm Blankets Orphan Care, let’s dream big for these children who may never get the chance to dream at all unless we do something.  Even the smallest gift will make a difference.

THESE are the kids Elaini wants to help, THESE are the kids warm blankets helps.

Its hard for me to think that these kids are living on the same earth we are, yet just look at them, then go look in the mirror or just around you.  We like to do the hole "Poor me thing" at this point NONE of are complaints even begin to compare.  We aren't going hungry, we aren't scared for are life everyday, we aren't drinking polluted water or living in huts of dirt.  WE live the life of luxury, WE live the good life.  So.... no more complaining on our part, we could ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS, be them.

I really encourage you to click on the links provided and pray for Elaini.  Pray for these kids, pray for there futures.  If you are or aren't in the financial place to donate to Elaini's cause, pray.  Every prayer counts!

Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves; ensure justice for those being crushed. Yes, speak up for the poor and helpless, and see that they get justice.
Proverbs 31:8-9

A father to the fatherless, a defender of widows, is God in his holy dwelling.
Psalm 68:5

TOMS!!!!

Hola!!!
Today I want to share about an organization I support and love- TOMS!!
They sell very cute and very "IN" shoes (I have a pair and are planing on getting another very soon + they are SO in that celebrities like: Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen,Selena Gomez, zac Efron, Miley Cyrus, Anne Hathaway, and Kristen Stewart just to name a few, have been seen in them;)
The prices may not be wonderful but with the TOMS organization, every pair of shoes bought in America, they give a pair to a child in need.
so basically you are paying for two pairs of shoes!  One for you and one for a kid in a less fortunate country ( like Haiti, China, Africa, and Honduras).

So why do they "NEED" shoes you might ask?

Many children in developing countries grow up barefoot. Whether at play, doing chores or going to school, these children are at risk:

•A leading cause of disease in developing countries is soil-transmitted diseases, which can penetrate the skin through bare feet.   Wearing shoes can  help prevent these diseases, and the long-term physical and cognitive harm they cause.

•Wearing shoes also prevents feet from getting cuts and sores. Not only are these injuries painful, they also are dangerous when wounds become infected.

•Many times children can't attend school barefoot because shoes are a required part of their uniform. If they don't have shoes, they don't go to school. If they don't receive an education, they don't have the opportunity to realize their potential.

You should relay check it out!  Hope you enjoy!
